The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has officially announced that Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been crowned the PFA Players' Player of the Year for the 2025‑26 season. This award is voted on by all registered Premier League players.
Over the past season, Bruno Fernandes registered 9 goals and 21 assists in the Premier League, directly contributing to 30 goals. He ranked among the league’s top midfielders across multiple metrics including offensive organisation and key passes. As the team’s attacking engine, he served as the cornerstone for Manchester United, who finished third in the Premier League and returned to the league’s top tier.
In this selection, Bruno Fernandes stood out from strong contenders including Declan Rice, Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and others. He is the first Manchester United player to receive this honour in the past 16 years. The club’s previous winner was Wayne Rooney in the 2009‑10 season. Meanwhile, he is also the second Portuguese player to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award, following Cristiano Ronaldo.
