Everton have officially announced the signing of Chelsea forward Tyrique George on loan, with an optional buy clause included.

The club wrote in an official statement: “Everton has signed England U21 international Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2025/26 season, with a buy option available this summer.”

“The 19-year-old versatile forward is known for his explosive pace and technical ability. He joins the Toffees on the final day of the winter transfer window and is eligible to make his debut in Saturday's match against Fulham.”

After joining Everton, George will wear the number 19 shirt. He said: “I'm absolutely thrilled to be at this great club and can't wait to get started. The fans here are incredible. I know Evertonians are passionate and love hard-working players, and that's exactly what I aim to show. I want to play exciting football and impress them.”

“Manager David Moyes is one of the reasons I joined. He's a fantastic coach who has managed top players like Wayne Rooney. I've had a brief chat with him, and he's a great person too. I just want to enjoy my time here, learn under him and keep improving.”

“I feel ready and prepared to make an impact. It's an exciting time for the club. I'll give my all to this new challenge and hope to get up to speed quickly. I've seen pictures of Goodison Park – it's huge and amazing, and I'm really looking forward to playing there.”

“Securing European qualification for next season is a great target for us, and I know everyone will fight for it. I want to come here, help the team win as many games as possible and keep climbing up the league table.”

Speaking about the new signing, manager David Moyes said: "We're delighted to bring Tyrique in on loan from Chelsea. He's a well-rounded forward who can play in all attacking positions. I hope he settles in quickly, and the fans' support will definitely make him feel at home. We're looking forward to working with him."
