Brazil played out a thrilling 1-1 draw against Morocco in the latest key FIFA World Cup group stage fixture. Vinícius Júnior scored the crucial equalising goal to bring the Samba Boys back on level terms. However, in the post-match interview, he frankly stated that the team still has plenty of room for improvement.

Reviewing the game, Vinícius Júnior admitted that Brazil’s sluggish performance in the first half put the side on the back foot. "We got off to a really poor start in the first half. Falling behind early made the game extremely tough. There is always massive pressure surrounding a World Cup opener, so it is never easy to find our rhythm straight away. Yet we have to realise that there are no easy games at the World Cup, and we must keep improving," he said.

Talking about Morocco’s sharp counter-attacks, Vinícius Júnior shared his opinions: “We need to gain better control of possession, keep hold of the ball and disrupt our opponents with wide-range ball distribution. Many teams choose to defend deep and look for counter-attacking chances when facing us. We can reduce such risks if we manage the game tempo more effectively.”

Despite failing to secure a winning start, Vinícius Júnior has shifted focus to the upcoming fixture. "There is no need for empty words right now. The most important thing is to reflect on this game thoroughly and train hard, as our next match will come soon," he added.
