As Roma look to sign a new striker in the winter transfer window, they are also striving to strengthen their backline. Sporting Director Frederic Massara has set his sights on Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin. Journalists report that Roma has been in communication with Dragusin himself for several days and has reached an agreement on the player’s personal contract terms.

Next, Roma still needs to finalize negotiations with Tottenham, but the two sides currently have a €5 million price gap. Tottenham are demanding €20 million for Dragusin, while Roma is unwilling to exceed €15 million upfront. Additionally, Roma finds it difficult to pay the full transfer fee immediately in the winter window, so they hope to sign Dragusin through a loan with conditional obligation to buy.

Journalists state that Massara will increase the loan fee next to get closer to Tottenham’s asking price. Eventually, Roma is expected to sign Dragusin via a loan with conditional obligation to buy, totaling €17-18 million. Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea has stated: “We hope the deal is completed as soon as possible; we want to go to Roma.”
