Real Madrid lost 0-1 at home to Getafe, suffering two consecutive defeats in La Liga. Reporter Edu Aguirre revealed the inside story of Real Madrid’s dressing room on a program of Spanish channel Six.

Edu Aguirre disclosed: “Someone told me what has been happening frequently in the dressing room lately, as I kept asking. I said, can’t anyone speak up? Is there no leader to stand out at half-time or after a defeat? They told me there are too many thin-skinned players. It means if someone speaks out or reminds another player, that person gets angry and a quarrel breaks out immediately.”

“Just as media figure Juanfe said not long ago, what is happening now is that a key player speaks in the dressing room: ‘Hey, what’s going on? We have to do this, we have to act this way.’ Then a conflict breaks out right away, with the other replying ‘Who do you think you are?’ or even worse.”

“It is worrying that there aren’t two or three leaders in the dressing room who can speak plainly at half-time or after a match, making others say ‘Okay, where do we need to improve?’ That is no longer the case. It seems if you criticize someone face-to-face, they will snap, and a strange tension fills the dressing room.”
