The official social media account of the Iran men's national football team has posted a response to comments previously made by Donald Trump on his personal account regarding Iran's participation in the World Cup.

Statement from the Iran men's national football team:
The World Cup is a historic international tournament whose governing body is the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), not any individual or country. The Iran national football team qualified for this top-tier tournament as one of the first teams through its own strength and a series of decisive victories achieved by Iranian athletes.
There is no doubt that no one can exclude the Iran national football team from the World Cup; the only party that should be excluded is those countries that only hold the title of "host" but are unable to provide security guarantees for all teams participating in this global event. @FIFAWorldCup @GianniInfantino
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump posted on social media sharing his views on the Iran national football team's participation in the World Cup.
Trump wrote in his post: “We welcome the Iran national football team to participate in the World Cup, but I truly believe they are not suitable to do so, for the sake of their own lives and safety. Thank you all for your attention to this matter!”
