Spain, Portugal and Morocco will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with the venue for the final remaining a subject of doubt. However, according to the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the matter has been settled once and for all.

However, neither FIFA headquarters nor Real Madrid CF has released an official statement on this yet. Relevant parties have reached a consensus that the 2030 World Cup final will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. This will be the first time the Bernabéu hosts a World Cup final in 48 years, since the 1982 showdown between Italy and West Germany.

Since the launch of the World Cup bid—initially a collaborative project for the Iberian Peninsula—FIFA has been deliberating on how to allocate key events of this major tournament involving six countries (including Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina) after Morocco joined and invested heavily in football, stadiums and infrastructure. While the opening ceremony and draw are important, the final is undoubtedly the most globally watched highlight. Spain and its influence in world football have played a key role in this process.

The efforts of the RFEF cannot be ignored, and the close relationship between FIFA and Real Madrid in recent years is also fully reflected here. The tacit cooperation between Gianni Infantino and Florentino Pérez has made the Bernabéu Stadium the chosen venue for the World Cup final in July 2030. Although the RFEF president only vaguely referred to the location as "here" without specifying the stadium name, all current signs point to the Santiago Bernabéu hosting the ultimate match to decide the world champion.

The other possible option, Camp Nou, is currently unable to meet FIFA's relevant requirements due to its unfinished renovation project, so it cannot take on such an important match for the time being. However, Barcelona's home ground is bound to play a crucial role in this World Cup.

To comply with FIFA's regulation that the World Cup final venue must accommodate at least 80,000 spectators, the Bernabéu Stadium will undergo corresponding external adjustments. In addition, FIFA requires full control of the stadium within three months before the game—a matter that has been resolved through negotiations between Real Madrid and FIFA.

Since Infantino took charge of FIFA, the organization has been committed to ensuring that host countries and regions play their due roles in major tournaments. Morocco will host the next Club World Cup in 2029 and the Women's U-17 World Cup in the coming years.
