Star players of Glasgow Rangers have been having sexual relations with women in hotel rooms booked by the club for their physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
A club medical staff member has been suspended, with the shocking allegations reportedly linked to premises in England.
The exposure of this sex scandal stemmed from an angry wife who found out about her footballer husband's infidelity while he was away for a match. Enraged after learning of the affair, the wife contacted the senior management at Ibrox Stadium to report the incident.
This is understood to have led to the suspension of a member of Rangers' physiotherapy team.
It remains unclear how many star players are involved in the improper incident, nor how long it has been going on.
But it is alleged that a small number of star players used hotel rooms booked for treatment in England to have sexual relations with women.
The scandal, which came to light on the eve of Christmas, has "caused an uproar inside Ibrox Stadium". A source said: "These rooms appear to have been booked in the name of the physiotherapy department. But some players have clearly taken advantage of this arrangement.
At least one of the hotels is in London. The wife of one of the players flew into a rage after discovering her husband's infidelity and confronted the club directly, demanding that action be taken.
The matter then reached the club's medical department, after which a member of the medical team was told he would be suspended."
Another insider said:"There is an outcry within the club because a senior staff member seems to be taking the blame for the players' actions. He has become the fall guy, while the players have got off scot-free."
The scandal is understood to have sparked heated discussions in WhatsApp groups among players and staff.
It is not clear whether the involved players received any physiotherapy during their stays at the hotels.
A source continued: “This matter has been circulating for several weeks. Players, their wives and staff have all discussed it in different group chats.”
Glasgow Rangers stated that the club "will not comment on any speculation".
A spokesperson added: “We demand the highest standards from everyone representing Glasgow Rangers. We can confirm that no internal investigation into this matter is being conducted by the club.”
The suspended staff member, whose name we have chosen not to disclose, declined to comment when asked about the incident.
