The official announcement from Girona is as follows:

Medical Statement

Marc-André ter Stegen has suffered a left hamstring injury during the match against Real Oviedo on Saturday. He will undergo further medical examinations to determine the final injury status and evaluate the prognosis plan.

Ter Stegen sustained the injury in the game against Real Oviedo, and the preliminary examination results are not optimistic. The player has suffered a hamstring tear, which may affect the tendon.

Further tests are still pending, and the possibility of direct surgery cannot be ruled out. The player may be sidelined for two months, and a return to FC Barcelona is not excluded.

The 33-year-old ter Stegen joined Girona on loan in the winter transfer window and has only made 2 appearances for the club so far.
