The French Football Federation announced that manager Didier Deschamps' mother has unfortunately passed away. He will return to France for the funeral and will be unable to manage France's final group stage match against Norway.

Official Announcement:

Didier Deschamps will be unable to conduct training sessions ahead of the match between Norway and France, and he will not be on the sidelines on Friday to manage the French team for their final match in Group I.

The national team manager learned of the tragic news of his mother's passing this morning and will return to France to attend the funeral.

In full agreement with Philippe Diallo, the President of the French Football Federation who is currently at the French team's base, Deschamps has entrusted the management and coaching duties of the team to his assistant, Guy Stéphan, until his return.

At this time of immense grief, we extend our deepest condolences to the manager and express our full support on behalf of all members of the French Football Federation.

The final group match between France and Norway will take place on June 26. Currently, both France and Norway have accumulated 6 points in Group I and have both confirmed early qualification; the final match will decide the winner of the group.
