Thomas Frank has been sacked and is no longer the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have dropped to 16th in the Premier League table, failing to win any of their last 8 league games and picking up only 2 victories in their past 17 matches, sitting just 5 points above the relegation zone — marking one of the worst managerial starts in the club’s recent history. The only bright spot is a fourth-place finish in the Champions League group stage, sealing a place in the last 16.

Frank was appointed in June 2025, replacing the sacked Ange Postecoglou on a three-year deal. Last season under the Australian, Spurs collected just 38 points from 38 games to finish 17th — their worst-ever Premier League campaign — but miraculously qualified for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, the club’s first trophy since 2008.

In the 2025/26 summer transfer window, Tottenham spent £114.1 million to sign Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, while loaning in Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani. However, the season began with key midfielder James Maddison suffering a serious ACL injury in his right knee, and winger Dejan Kulusevski also sidelined by a knee injury and yet to feature. The club added Conor Gallagher and left-back Guilherme Sosa in the winter window, but the slump continued.

Since entering 2026, Spurs have drawn with Brentford and Sunderland, before suffering consecutive defeats to Bournemouth, Aston Villa in the FA Cup, West Ham United and other sides, with Frank regularly booed by fans. Despite gritty draws against Burnley and Manchester City, heavy losses to Manchester United and Newcastle ultimately led the board to dismiss the manager.

Frank previously spent seven years in charge of Brentford, leading them to a historic promotion to the Premier League and securing survival for four consecutive seasons. His brief spell at Tottenham ended in failure, and the club has now begun the process of identifying his successor.
