Prediction: City Wins

Manchester City’s defensive injuries have really cost them their solidity at the back. It has partly been the reason they aren’t keeping many clean sheets. Fulham will want to capitalize on that, as they have enough creative players to make City’s backline suffer.

However, Fulham must design a strategy to deal with a rampant City attack. Fulham have struggled defensively, conceding 12 times in the last eight matches. This match, therefore, is likely to not only be high-scoring but also to produce goals on either end. Our prediction for Manchester City v Fulham is  City Wins.

Manchester City were on the brink of falling nine points behind Arsenal, but a quick turnaround saw them beat Liverpool 2-1 on Sunday. Late goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland secured three vital points for the Cityzens.

Attention shifts to Fulham, a side that treated City to a thriller back in December as Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 5-4 winners. For a side that has only lost once at home in the league this season, Manchester City will be very positive here. After back-to-back losses against Bodo/Glimt and Manchester United, City have gone on a five-match unbeaten run, winning four.

Manchester City are still battling with injuries among key players, especially defenders. Their win against Liverpool came at a price after a collision between goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Abdukodir Khusanov. The defender had to be replaced with suspicion of a concussion, and he may not be risked here.

Donnarumma will, however, stay on, with his confidence levels elevated after a potentially title-winning save. Erling Haaland is going through some sort of drought, with two goals in nine matches. He will be one to watch here as he looks to lead his mates to another title.

Fulham are coming from yet another defeat. They lost an early lead against Everton, conceding twice late on for a 2-1 defeat at home. Their 11th loss of the season has left their challenge for European football very limp. The Cottagers are currently nine points adrift of fifth.

Having lost more than they’ve won, Fulham are in danger of falling further behind in their ambitions. They meet a side they last beat in 2009, yet they are coming off a run of three defeats in the last four league matches. The visitors can only cling to hope here, with their last two wins against City having come in away games.

A charged Haaland will call for an alert Bernd Leno. The German keeper must up his game and will feel the urge after scoring an own goal in the last outing. Leno has managed just five clean sheets all season in the league, and we aren’t backing him to keep one here.

However, on the other end of the pitch, Fulham will be looking to benefit from Harry Wilson’s wizardry. The Welshman has recorded eight goals and four assists so far in the league and comes with an xG of 4.15. On the absentee list, Fulham only have Sasa Lukic ruled out.

Final Prediction:

Asian Handicap: City -1.5

European Handicap: City Wins

Predicted Scores: 1-1, 1-2, 2-2
