Prediction: Atletico Wins

Atletico Madrid are understandably big favourites in this match, having won 12 of their last 13 home games in the Champions League, but they have yet to keep a clean sheet in this season’s competition.

That will give Bodo/Glimt a boost of confidence coming into this fixture, but while they have been good in attack in Europe this season, they have also conceded two or more goals in all three of their UCL away matches. Therefore, our Atletico Madrid vs Bodo/Glimt prediction is Atletico Wins and  BTTS.

While Atletico Madrid guaranteed themselves at least a Playoff place in the UCL last week, a 1-1 draw against Galatasaray would have been seen as a bit of a disappointment for Diego Simeone.

Still, Los Rojiblancos are now unbeaten in their last four games in this competition (W3 D1) and enter this match following a commanding 3-0 victory against Mallorca at home in La Liga over the weekend.

The hosts have a perfect record of three wins in three at the Metropolitano Stadium in this competition and scored 10 goals combined in those games. However, they failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those matches as well.

While Julian Alvarez drew a blank against Gala, he has recorded six goal contributions in as many UCL games this season. There is a chance this could be the last time we see the Argentine in an Atleti jersey, with several clubs looking to sign him before the transfer deadline.

With Antoine Griezmann now set for a stint on the sidelines after picking up an injury in training last week, Alexander Sorloth will almost certainly start against the club he spent a loan spell with in 2015.

Clement Lenglet made his long-awaited return from injury to feature in the squad against Mallorca at the weekend, meaning the only other player sidelined for the hosts at present is Ilias Kostis.

Meanwhile, despite not having played a competitive match since December 10 against Borussia Dortmund, Bodo/Glimt pulled off an incredible result on MD7, beating Manchester City 3-1 at home.

Four of the Superlaget’s six points in this competition have come in their last two games, and they have now scored two or more goals in five of their seven matches in this season's competition.

However, the visitors have not won an away game in Europe this season, losing one and drawing two on the road in the League Phase. They were also defeated by Sturm Graz in their away leg during qualifying.

Jens Petter Hauge scored the decisive third goal for Bodo/Glimt against the Citizens and now leads the team with four goals in the League Phase. He also notched up four assists during qualifying.

With Ole Bloomberg setting up both Kasper Hogh’s goals last week, Kjetil Knutsen is unlikely to change his attacking trio, while Patrick Berg is also expected to retain his spot in the midfield pivot.

The visitors came away from their MD7 fixture with no new injury concerns. Therefore, Daniel Bassi and Haitam Aleesami are the only players expected to miss this week's trip to Madrid.
