Paris Saint-Germain beat Chelsea 5-2 at home in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. Paris manager Luis Enrique spoke to the media after the match.

“What an amazing stadium atmosphere, it’s simply incredible! The fans were fantastic. I saw the pre-match tifo on a screen in the dressing room, and as a coach, that feeling is indescribable! I want to say to my players: enjoy playing in this stadium, in this atmosphere, and enjoy the trust you feel even in difficult moments. Everything was wonderful. This victory belongs to the fans and to our players, because even though our performance wasn’t as precise as we wanted it to be, we are a group of fighters with an incredible mentality. We are a resilient team, and we always keep fighting.”

“We could see that Chelsea are a very high-level side, which is why they won so many games last season, and we know them very well. What about the second leg? I have no doubt it will be just as close and difficult a match as today’s. But we are not going to London to defend a lead, absolutely not. Our mentality is to go for the win, to attack, and put in a performance worthy of victory. Because when you set out to defend a lead, things often end up going wrong. I can promise you we will go for the win, and we have the quality to win the second leg.”
