Antoine Semenyo’s £65 million release clause is valid until early January, with sources stating that it will expire around January 10th. Therefore, Semenyo is expected to leave the club via transfer in January. In November, Liverpool called to inquire about Semenyo’s situation—they admire the player but have not yet made formal contact with Bournemouth or his agent team to initiate negotiations.

Liverpool only made a call in November to find out about the structure of the release clause. Tottenham are also interested, but what I can tell you is that in the past two or three days, Tottenham has made no progress in the Semenyo transfer deal. Then there are the two Manchester clubs. If you follow my channel, I told you earlier that on Monday and Tuesday, both Manchester United and Manchester City called to inquire about Semenyo. I can confirm that both Man City and Man Utd are involved in talks over Semenyo. So Manchester United are also in the running.

Manchester United believe Semenyo is capable of playing multiple positions and can fit into Rúben Amorim’s current tactical system. Alternatively, even if they eventually change the tactical system, Semenyo will still be an important player with different tactical approaches adopted. As for Manchester City, they are looking for a winger for 2026.

Semenyo is not the only name on City’s shortlist. Manchester United had already added Semenyo to their list during the summer transfer window but later invested in signing Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. However, Amorim still highly appreciates

Semenyo, and City’s management is also very interested in the player. So both Man City and Man Utd are involved.

Liverpool made a call in November, but no progress has been made on the deal so far. So let’s wait and see what happens, as remember the release clause is £65 million. Therefore, Semenyo needs to decide what he wants to do, and these conversations with these clubs will be crucial for understanding his future. But remember the release clause expires on January 10th. So a critical juncture will come soon.
