According to the latest media reports, Arsenal have held exploratory talks over the transfer of Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez.

Atlético could be prepared to sell Álvarez for €100 million (around £86.8 million), the player who won the treble with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal director Edu Gaspar has a close relationship with Álvarez, having engineered the player’s move from Manchester City to Atlético Madrid. Barcelona are also very interested in signing Álvarez, with reports suggesting they are among the front-runners for his signature.
Earlier yesterday, another authoritative outlet also reported that Arsenal had made an enquiry for Álvarez. Sources in Spain have indicated that if Atlético are willing to sell Álvarez this summer, they will demand a transfer fee in excess of €100 million, while the player’s contract includes a release clause of over €500 million.
