Regarding support for Gianni Infantino’s work at FIFA over the past ten years

On behalf of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and its Executive Committee, I write to the respected Mr. President, and through you to FIFA’s management to state our position: we support your work over the past decade, centred on the development of global football and institutional consolidation built upon clear, stable and transparent governance models.
In this regard, concerning the recent publicly known events, we recognise the management’s decision to withdraw the relevant project. Since its proposal, this initiative generated far more uncertainty than certainty within the football family.
It is therefore commendable that the management acknowledged mistakes made throughout the process and issued an apology in the official communication sent to FIFA’s 211 member associations. Prioritising governance standards constitutes the cornerstone for solidifying sound relations between FIFA, its member associations and continental confederations.
Likewise, as we have previously stated, the work under your leadership has driven profound transformation within FIFA. This work has opened the organisation’s doors to all member associations and continental confederations, enabling us to advance the continuous development of football at every level and discipline through open and direct dialogue.
In our view, this transformation is grounded in transparent governance, respect for statutory structures and adherence to democratic procedures. These core principles allow the football family to unite and forge ahead, continuously improving sporting and institutional standards, and thereby enhancing the quality of life for millions of people who love this sport.
Therefore, with the upcoming FIFA Congress approaching, the Argentine Football Association, which I am honoured to head, firmly believes and reaffirms that the right path is to continue working under your leadership, so as to keep steering football toward higher‑quality and more inclusive development.
