Official statement: Xavi Simons, the Dutch player for Tottenham Hotspur, has suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the remainder of the current season.

It is currently expected that Xavi Simons will return to the field in 2027, which means he will miss the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup (Netherlands).

During the 34th round of the Premier League, Tottenham played away against Wolverhampton Wanderers. In the 58th minute of the match, Tottenham's Xavi Simons sustained a serious knee injury. After several minutes of treatment, Simons tried to stand up but ultimately couldn't continue and was substituted. He was then escorted off the field by a medical cart.
