Inter Milan President Giuseppe Marotta released a statement on the club's official website, condemning the behavior of individual fans who threw a smoke bomb and struck the Cremonese goalkeeper during this round of Serie A fixtures.

In the 23rd round of Serie A, Inter secured a 2-0 away victory over Cremonese. In the 49th minute of the match, Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero was hit by a smoke bomb thrown by a fan, causing a temporary suspension of play. Fortunately, Odeyero escaped unharmed and was able to continue the game.

President Marotta stated: “I wish to condemn and criticize this act. It is an absurd gesture that runs counter to the sporting values we have strived to instill since youth and always uphold. Not only do I personally regret this behavior, but this sentiment has also affected all Inter fans and our players, who are deeply shocked. Therefore, condemning such behavior is only natural.”

Marotta continued: "I know the relevant authorities have launched an investigation, and I am confident the responsible parties will be identified. I also want to highlight Audero 's professionalism—he performed excellently after the incident and kept a clean sheet for the remainder of the match. This is a serious and responsible attitude that deserves recognition. Nevertheless, everyone at Inter still expresses a clear and firm condemnation of what occurred."
