Olympique de Marseille officially announced that the club and Roberto De Zerbi have mutually agreed to terminate their cooperation following consultations.

Marseille suffered a heavy 0-5 away defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the league last weekend. This season, Marseille failed to reach the Champions League knockout stage, and also lost to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout in the French Super Cup to finish as runners-up; in Ligue 1, they are currently in fourth place, 12 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, 10 points behind second-placed Lens, and 3 points behind third-placed Lyon.

Official Announcement

Olympique de Marseille and first-team head coach Roberto De Zerbi jointly announce that they have officially terminated their cooperation by mutual agreement following consultations.

After discussions involving all relevant parties of the club's management (including the owner, president, sporting director and head coach), all parties decided to make an adjustment to the first-team head coach position. This is a collective, difficult decision made after careful consideration, aiming to safeguard the club's interests and meet the competitive challenges at the end of the season.

Olympique de Marseille sincerely thanks Roberto De Zerbi for his commitment, dedication, professionalism and rigorous attitude, especially for leading the team to finish second in the league in the 2024-25 season.

The club wishes him all the best in his future career.
