Should Giovanni Di Lorenzo suffer a cruciate ligament injury, he is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Di Lorenzo picked up an injury in Napoli's match against Fiorentina and will undergo instrumental examinations tomorrow, at which point a full diagnosis of his condition will be available.

If a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament is confirmed, Di Lorenzo will effectively see his season end prematurely. He would be ruled out for both Napoli for the remainder of the campaign and the Italian national team for the World Cup playoffs at the end of March.

Antonio Conte told reporters after the game: "There are far too many matches, and players who should be given a breather are unable to rest. As for Di Lorenzo's condition? It appears to be a serious injury, most likely a cruciate ligament issue."
